New collaboration: Great State and the RNLI

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has appointed us as their new strategic digital agency at an exciting time in their 200-year history.

Known for their courageous life-saving work around the coastlines of the United Kingdom, the RNLI provides more than just 24/7 emergency support. Their positive impact is felt across the country through rescue missions, water safety awareness, and fundraising efforts.

The needs and attitudes of the RNLI’s next generation of supporters and volunteers is changing rapidly. As an organisation, they understood that they needed to take a different approach built around a redefined digital experience. This is an exciting moment to join forces with the RNLI, to influence and support them on their digital transformation journey.

Together with the RNLI, we’ll evolve the way they use digital channels to generate more meaningful impact. We are excited to be working with them on that journey, helping them reach and attract their new target audiences.

Taking a strategic and user-centred approach, we will work together to build a digital experience that better serves their key audiences. Starting with their main website, our core objective is to boost charitable giving and amplify their core safety mission, all while working with the complex organisation to drive efficiencies. We’ll then turn our focus to the RNLI’s wider digital ecosystem, thinking creatively to deliver innovative solutions that bring about positive change.

Claire Bryden, Digital Experience Manager, RNLI:

“We were so impressed with how Great State took the time to get to know the RNLI; our team, our volunteers and our supporters. It gave us full confidence that their digital leadership would truly serve our organisation as a whole. They’re stability, technical ability and new ideas impressed our team, and gave them the leading advantage.”

David Chandler, Joint Managing Director at Great State:

“We’re thrilled to be joining them at such an exciting point in their history, strengthening and preparing them for the future to ensure that they will always be able to succeed in their core mission: saving lives at sea. We feel privileged to be leading the RNLI into their next phase as an organisation. The opportunity to provide fresh thinking, innovation and technical leadership for such a nationally loved organisation is something we can all get behind.”

Jinny Mitchell-Kent, Joint Managing Director at Great State:

“The RNLI were looking for a long-term agency to work closely with their team - one team focussed on the same mission. This way of working is something that’s unique and key to the success of our long-standing client relationships. As two organisations, we are very aligned; we have similar values and can already see the impact that we’ll have. We’re excited about what we can do together and can’t wait to get moving.
